Plymouth Schools Celebrate BBC Ten Pieces

Coachloads of young musicians from 14 Plymouth schools descended on Central Methodist Hall in Plymouth over two days to share their own interpretations of pieces from the BBC Ten Pieces project. Ten Pieces is an exciting new initiative for schools, led by BBC Learning and the BBC Performing Groups, focusing on classical music and creativity. The pupils performed on a range of instruments including ukuleles, clarinets, guitars and saxophones to a packed hall.  The exciting project in Plymouth was led by Jessica Rowe, music teacher at Montpelier Primary School and Primary Consultant for Plymouth Music Education Hub.  The two days of outstanding performances were the outcome of work begun by the participating schools last November.
