All Plymouth schools are at the heart of our provision and the Hub plays a significant part in enabling children to receive their cultural entitlement. Through First Access the Hub provides Key Stage 2 children with the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument for a full year. This is provided by highly-skilled and experienced tutors including qualified music teachers, peripatetic tutors and community musicians.  They plan and deliver in collaboration with class teachers structured, progressive lessons across three ten-week courses per year. A programme of Continuing Professional Development is integral to the delivery linking First Access to the school’s music curriculum.
